Adventure Guide Vest Final Patches

My nine year old granddaughter, who now lives in Colorado, was in Adventure Guides when she lived in California. I added achievement and memento patches to her vest in my post of 8/20/2024. On her most recent visit out to us in California, her mom brought two final patches for me to add to her vest for posterity. There is no adventure guides in Colorado. I barely eeked out a spot for each of the two patches at the very bottom of the vest.

These were much easier to sew on than those in my previous post for her brother's Boy Scout uniform. I still needed several colors, though: brown for the bobbin and then rust or purple for the badges themselves.

Here is the vest, all caught up with a full history of earned patches. On the bottom of the front across from the Dolphin is the Purple Hubie award. The “Hubie” is a distinguished award bestowed on The Circle at each event that demonstrates fathers and their daughters spending time together and really celebrating what the spirit of what this program is all about.

On the lower left corner of the back I managed to squeeze in a patch for the Rainbow Sky Induction. Rainbow Sky Expedition is a part of the YMCA of Orange County’s Adventure Guides program. This program was developed to help strengthen family relationships by spending quality one-on-one time with your child and other families in your community to help build a strong bond of trust and memories that will last a lifetime.

When my granddaughter sees this vest, these patches will continue to remind her of the special times she spent with her dad in California over the earlier years of her life when she lived there.
