Here are my accomplishments for 2024, followed by pictures and headings only. Details are in my past posts as indicated by a clickable completion date after each name. My own assessment of how well I met my 2024 goals is after the pictures of completions. Due to health issues, 2024 had a mid-year interruption for me. Chemo Chaos was made from a layer cake; Bin There Done That was made from a collection of blocks of the month from Joann's
2) Utilize tools I have and learn how to use new ones
Used wave ruler for Spooky Sweet
3) Interface with other quilters
Continued to blog; attended guild meetings, small group monthly meetings, and quilt shows; got together with quilting friend alternating at each other's home
4) Intersperse small projects just for fun, growth, satisfaction
Made Xmas ornaments; sewed burp cloths; added patches on vests
2) I aimed to reduce my stash by at least one kit in 2024 so I bought one kit (Spooky Sweet), made it up immediately and gave one kit (Utopia)to my daughter (does that count?) resulting in an overall decrease of one kit. Most recent kit audit is 1/17/2023 post. Whoops! Just remembered. In November, I did buy another kit that I had been eyeing (Moonbeams) from the Fat Quarter shop on 50% clearance. So I have maintained status quo on my kit count. Ooh, so close... I will try harder in 2025.
That still looks like an impressive list of accomplishments to me! Oh Deer Stands out as a particularly eye-catching make, as do Strawberry the Axolotl and the Angel ornaments. I's teacher LOVED those little alligator burp cloths, And made me show her the way you'd wrapped them, she was so impressed with how nice they looked), and Strawberry is still a favorite in our house.
ReplyDeleteI love the adventure guides vests, and I'm tickled to see your granddaughters on the front - and me with my quilt on the back - of your most recent book.
It also looks like you did pretty good on your goals! in this day & age, I feel like breaking even on quilt kits is actually a pretty big accomplishment (lord knows, I haven't been able to do it!), and The all-grandkid-blanket is another really good use of stash (even if you did have to buy more to finish it...). Overall, I think you did great in 2024, and your accomplishment list is quite admirable, even without the asterisk for your health struggles.
