Third Saturday of July 2022

For July, my guild was encouraged to hang colorful quilts of no particular theme. I chose to display four Hawaiian themed 30" by 30" wall hangings I made earlier this year.  They are postage stamp style quilts with 2" size individual squares assembled in a pixellated grid fashion. They are named from left to right. Each name is followed by the link to its blog post, which contains closeups.

Here is a view of their reverse side from indoors. They were backed with coordinating batik prints of rings.

Beginning April 2020, my quilt guild members began a tradition of hanging quilts in the front of their homes on the third Saturday of the month as a source of enjoyment for the community and as a thank you for the essential workers during the pandemic. My initial post about this practice is in my blog post dated 4/22/2020.

My DL2Q Blog Book – Vol. 17

When Blog2Print had a 45% off sale I seized the opportunity to publish my 17th DL2Q blog book and it arrived a few days ago.  Most recently, at 40% off, I had published Volumes 15 and 16 about six months ago in January. The site has sales often enough that I rarely, if ever, pay full price. If you plan to use the service be patient and be ready with your book all ready to go.

DianeLoves2Quilt - Volume 17: October 6, 2021 - April 2, 2022
Volume 17 contains 197 pages and 22 posts. I picked the cover that was red on the front to highlight the knitted vintage Christmas stocking and red on the back to pick up the red bandana print on the edge of the Don't Fence Me In quilt for a baby girl. My projects were on a smaller scale during this time period.

The Dedication for DL2Q Vol.17 and the subsequent Table of Contents read as follows:

Volume 17 opens with a knit vintage Christmas stocking for my sixth grandchild Irene, born January 11, 2021. Also there is a baby quilt for her cousin Heidi born January 17, 2022. Other projects are three table runners, 2 Hawaiian-theme wall hangings, burp cloths, 4 pillows and other stuffed toys for Halloween and Christmas.

These are links to previous volumes and reminders to what covers I selected. Volume 12 has the best, most complete, selection of hints.

I publish these books about twice a year at uneven intervals. I tend to break at logical points between post topics or else I group posts to assure multi-post topics are not disrupted between books. These charts remind me how the books vary in the number of pages and in the quantity and length of posts. For those readers who do not wish to indulge the nerd in me, feel free to skip over the following charts that give my blog book statistics.
